Religious Tourism

The Caminho Religioso da Estrada Real (CRER) or Royal Road Religious Way includes 37 districts on the Royal Road route.

The path can be started or ended in Serra da Piedade, at the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora da Piedade in Caeté, Patroness of Minas Gerais or the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora Aparecida, patroness of Brazil, in Aparecida do Norte, São Paulo State. The project dedicated to faith, spirituality and meditation is based on the Camino de Compostela:

• 840 km long with a journey time of approximately 40 days;
• Can be travelled on foot, bicycle or horseback;
• 37 districts along the Royal Road, with five located in the State of São Paulo;
• Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora Aparecida, in Aparecida do Norte, is the “Catholic heartland of Brazil”;
• Sanctuary of Our Lady of Mercy, Caeté.
