If you’re planning to visit Rio de Janeiro, here are some useful pieces of information to make the most of your stay in the marvelous city.

Airports

Rio de Janeiro has two main airports: Galeão International Airport (GIG), which handles international and domestic flights, and Santos Dumont Airport (SDU), primarily serving domestic flights. Both airports are located in the northern part of the city and offer public transport, taxis, and ride-hailing services to reach the downtown or southern zone, where most hotels and tourist attractions are located.
